‘Justice League’ Writer Joss Whedon Likes Tweet Calling The Film’s Antagonist “The Worst Comic Book Move Villain” Ever

I’m that one guy you get annoyed with because he talks about movies too much, but I’m also the one guy you love to talk movies with.

Steppenwolf has always been hiding in the shadows when it came to Justice League’s marketing. The film, which hits American theaters this weekend, has been a subject of controvery throughout the week. Delaying the Rotten Tomatoes score, in addition to the mixed reviews dosn’t help. Even the Batman himself has admitted that he looks to leave the role soon.

Earlier today Joss Whedon added to this controversy by liking a very negative Justice League critique on Twitter. The tweet cited Steppenwolf, the film’s antagonist, as the worst comic book villian of all time. This made fans assume that Whedon felt this way as well. Whedon, who directed the reshoots after the tragic passing of Zack Snyder’s daughter, was tasked to adding more character work on the film. It seems that if his influence expanded past team dynamics, the villian would’ve been a major priority.

The director/writer has since unliked the photo due to fan backlash, but that did not stop fans from expressing their feelings of betrayal. It may have been better to keep the feelings to himself as the release date apporaches, but hopefully no more controvery surrounding the film will emerge before then.

Justice League hits theaters this weekend.

Do you think Whedon betrayed the fans?
